Imagine you’re sitting at home, watching television, preparing dinner or sitting in silence in existential dread because of the state of the world and you hear a knock on the door.
You walk to the front door, peek through the peephole and see someone who looks very familiar but who you would in no way be expect to be in front of your house.
Curiosity gets the best of you, and you open the door. Staring back at you is the one and only Oprah Winfrey.
For some lucky Georgians, they didn’t have to imagine because that’s exactly what happened Thursday when they were greeted by the billionaire as she canvassed for Democratic gubernatorial candidate Stacey Abrams.
“Oh, my God!” screamed one woman when she saw the star. “Hi, Oprah!”
Winfrey lent her support to Abrams, who is looking to become the first Black female governor in the history of the country.
During a town hall event, Abrams recounted her shock when she received a call from the entertainer asking how she could help her campaign.
“I dreamed so small, I was like, ‘Will you send out a tweet?” Abrams said to laughter from the audience and Winfrey. “Her response was, ‘No, I want to knock on doors,’ and I’m like, ‘Of people?”
