White Woman Calls Police on Black Real Estate Investor Inspecting House

Black Real Estate Investor

Another day, another instance where a White person calls the cops on a Black person for existing or doing their jobs.

Michael Hayes, a real estate investor in Memphis, Tenn, was inspecting a house on May 5 that he had permission to be in when a woman approached him and started questioning about why he was there, per The Root

Hayes said he showed the woman proof that he was supposed to be in the house, but it wasn’t good enough and she called the cops on him.

Luckily for Hayes, the cops were understanding and told him that if the woman continued to bother him, she’d be arrested.

“You keep the camera rolling. If you have any problems with her, what I want you to do is call me back over here,” the officer tells Hayes. “She will go to jail for that.”

The woman says she’s friend with the sheriff and tells the officers that Hayes can go in, but has to be quick with his inspection.

“I don’t care if you’re friends with the president,” the male officer says. “You’re going to let him do what he’s going to do. If you try to do anything to stop him, I’m going to take you to jail.”
