Marshala Perkins, 19, has become an internet sensation after her February mugshot went viral. Arrest aside, the former Texas A&M student’s photo is being blazoned all over social media for the flawless makeup, and many users are asking that she provide a tutorial on the slayed look.
Perkins is an aspiring makeup artist, and according to WSB-TV, the mugshot is from a Feb. 6 arrest, in which the young woman was picked up for marijuana possession. In April, the photo was to the Twitter account, Mugshot Baes, and has since amassed over 280,000 likes and nearly 62,000 shares.
The Dallas native told Star-Telegram about the arrest. “I was actually bored that night. I was just going out with my friends looking the way I was looking.” She also revealed that she did a tutorial for the look on her Facebook Live before heading out with her friends.
Although Perkins was initially embarrassed when she saw her mugshot making rounds on the internet, she said it has turned into a positive. “Someone has reached out to me about starting my own makeup line,” she said. “Now it’s turned into something so positive, so I’m just going to embrace it and see where it takes me.”
