Study: Closing Racial Wage Gap In 20 Occupations Adds $220 Billion To Black Households
A new study from corporate consulting firm McKinsey found that if Black Americans in 20 different occupations were paid wages equal to those received by their white counterparts, approximately 2 million of them would be able to transition into the middle class, CBS News reports. Further, the report found that Black households would earn an extra $220 million annually if the racial wage gap was closed.
Black Employees Prefer Working Remotely Because It Helps To Avoid Microagressions
A recent study of 5,085 office workers in the United States released by The Future Forum found that Black employees were the group most likely to want a work schedule that was either remote-only or hybrid. Further, the study found that Black, Latino, and Asian employees felt a greater sense of belonging when working remotely versus working in the office. For white workers, however, location flexibility did not change or improve their sense of belonging.
