Due to a misunderstanding by way of a text message exchange, Nicki Minaj had Canadian crooner Tory Lanez remove her verse from the single “Shooters.” But thanks to the magic of the internet, we now have the verse in question from the Harajuku Barbie herself.

Lanez explained on The Breakfast Club that the Queens MC didn’t take too kindly to his initial feedback on the verse he sent via text, which led to her taking the verse back altogether.

“She was originally on ‘Shooters’ and she did an incredible verse. I was asking her about the verse, about changing something around because of where you placed the hook at … through the text it kinda came off like I was trying to critique her verse … and she really wasn’t rocking with it and she was like take my verse off the song.”
