Jennifer Pfautch, the wife of Power star Omari Hardwick, paid tribute on Tuesday (June 12) to the 51-year-old Supreme Court decision Loving v. Virginia that made interracial marriage legal in the United States.

Pfautch shared a picture of herself with her husband on Instagram, writing, “Happy Loving Day from our family to your family!” The couple married nearly eight years ago, and she acknowledged just a few decades ago their union would not have been possible. “On this day in 1967, the Supreme Court, in the historic case of Loving v. Virginia, struck down all remaining laws in the United States banning interracial marriage. Love will always win…#LoveHasNoColor.”

Despite the legalization of interracial marriage, the couple has been met with commenters who are critical of Black men who marry outside their race. But the backlash has stopped neither Hardwick nor Pfautch from expressing their love for each other.
