Two months ago, Oprah Winfrey revealed plans to work with Tyler Perry on two original scripted programs for OWN, a first for the network.

Today, OWN released further details on Perry’s contribution to the network via The Hollywood Reporter:

Haves and the Have Nots is a single-camera effort about the dynamics of the affluent Cyrer family and the impoverished family of their housekeeper, Hanna, and the obstacles and secrets that exist within both families.

Love Thy Neighbor, meanwhile, is a multicamera series set at Love’s Diner, where every day the menu serves up good food, great laughs, valuable life lessons and a lot of love for its zany neighbors.”

The “Haves and the Have Nots” will continue Perry’s theme of the rich vs. the poor (seen prominently in “The Family That Preys”) while “Love Thy Neighbor” sounds like a fresh and perhaps exciting concept.

Perry will write, direct and executive produce both shows, which begin production early next year.
