While it may be difficult to see Phylicia Rashad in any other television role outside of her iconic 'Cosby' character, we might just get the opportunity to watch her embrace and own an entirely new character later this year. Recently cast in NBC's Jekyll and Hyde project titled "Do No Harm," Rashad will resume her boss stature, although this time she won't be overseeing a family; she'll be overseeing an entire hospital as Dr. Vanessa Young, Chief of Surgery. The medical drama will center on an ingenious neurosurgeon, Young's subordinate, suffering from a volatile split personality. This would be Rashad's first television starring role in over a decade, if the project is ultimately picked up.

Up and coming actress Tiffany Hines ("Nikita," "Beyond the Break") has also scored a starring role on "Americana," a primetime pilot at ABC. The hazel eyed Hines has been cast in the fashion industry soap set around a large family of successful fashion designers running a famous label. As a promising medical student and the best friend to the family's newest addition, Hines' character inevitably gets swept into the dark side of the industry once she gives modeling a go. Both of these shows sound like they're packing enough juicy drama, scandal, and flair to lockdown enough views for a season pick-up. And, as always, we're huge supporters of more diverse casting on television shows, especially the holy grail that is primetime.

Based off of these initial plots and the talented actresses cast, will these pilots most likely become the next "Ugly Betty" or "Grey's Anatomy?"
