Brazilian authorities arrested celebrity plastic surgeon known as “Dr. Bumbum,” in Rio de Janiero on Thursday, after five days being on the run following the sudden death of a woman he gave butt injections, according to NPR.

Born Denis Cesar Barros Furtado, 45, the doctor amassed a massive social media following in his country for his butt enhancement procedure. He administered butt injections on the patient, identified as bank manager, Lilian Calixto, 46, at his home on July 14.

She reportedly fell ill during the procedure forcing Furtado to rush her to the hospital. According to authorities after dropping her off, he disappeared.

Calixto, a mother of two, died but the exact cause of death has not been determined.

Local media outlets reported that Calixto arrived at the hospital with tachycardia, an abnormally fast heart rate, after she received silicone and what is believed to be acrylic glass filler injections into each buttock.

Furtado proclaimed his innocence during a press conference on Thursday and showed his medical license to reporters. He reportedly performed the same procedure 9,000 times.
