The New York Police Department has reportedly launched an inquiry into rapper and reality star Remy Ma for allegedly punching Love & Hip-Hop cast member Brittney Taylor.

According to Page Six, Taylor, a rising rapper, accused the State of the Culture host of punching her in the right eye Tuesday night during the Pretty Lou Benefit Concert at Irving Plaza in New York.

TMZ reports the altercation began after the pair "exchanged words" in a green room over an alleged attack on the veteran emcee's stepdaughter Dejanae.

Taylor filed a police report the night after the incident allegedly occurred because she may have been "embarrassed."

She shared an imaged of her bruised eye on Instagram writing, "So, here I am on my way to a very important meeting and it's hard to even focus because of what occurred last night. I didn't wanna bring it to social media because Its pretty embarrassing and not a good look tbh. I tried my best to cover it up with make up and move on but that still didn't work." Accusing the veteran emcee of assault, Taylor wrote, "My Question is @remyma why did you really do this?"

Sources close to the "Shether" emcee told TMZ there's no validity to Taylor's account.

Remy Ma has not been charged or arrested in connection to the incident.
