The majority of respondents in a new CNN poll believe the allegations of sexual assault levied against President Donald Trump.

The poll, conducted by SSRS and released on Friday, also revealed that Americans perceive sexual harassment as a far more serious offense than 20 years ago.

According to the poll, roughly 7 in 10 Americans see sexual harassment as a very serious problem, a 34-point shift from a CNN/TIME poll conducted in 1998.

Women reported viewing sexual harassment as “extremely or very serious” (73 percent). Sixty-three percent of men shared the same sentiment.

Democrats are more concerned with sexual harassment than those who are affiliated with other political parties. Eighty-five percent of Democrats and 68 percent of independents view sexual harassment as “extremely or very serious.” Only 45 percent of Republicans share this same sentiment.

In reference to Trump, 61 percent of registered voters reported believing the accusations are mostly true. In October 2016, 54 percent of registered voters said the same thing in a CBS News/New York Times poll. Despite this percentage, there is a difference in partisan numbers with 89 percent of Democrats and only 18 percent of Republicans saying the same.

Respondents were also asked what should happen next regarding the accusations against Trump.

Two-thirds of U.S. citizens polled said there should be a congressional inquiry into the allegations. Half say he should resign over them.

In terms of partisan breakdown, 90 percent of Democrats and Independents who lean more toward Democratic ideals say the allegations should be investigated. Only 24 percent of Republicans and Republican-leaning independents say the same.

As for Trump resigning over the allegations, 79 percent of Democrats and Independents who lean more toward Democratic ideals say he should step down, with only 10 percent of Republicans agreeing with the sentiment.
