Rupert A. Byrdsong

Los Angeles Superior Court Judge

At the age of 48, Byrdsong was the first African-American judge to have an unlimited civil trials assignment at the Chatsworth Courthouse. At the age of 49, he was the first African-American judge assigned to Complex Civil Litigation. He mentors numerous college students, law school students and lawyers of color in addition to speaking about implicit bias in the legal profession.
