The Black news wire almost exploded when word broke that folks portrayed Michelle Obama to be an “angry black woman.” Her comments about being really proud of her country back in 2008 still resonate with some pundits and pontificators. President Barack Obama, speaking during an interview with NBC, said one of the toughest parts about being Commander-in-Chief is that his wife has been dragged into the “political realm.”
While the president didn’t touch the “angry black woman” comment specifically, he complimented his wife’s success as FLOTUS, and says he believes Americans have a positive impression of her. According to a 2011 Marist Poll, 63 percent of Americans still hold a favorable view of Michelle Obama while 21 percent have an unfavorable view of her.
