Prosecutor Faces Firing After Attempting to Charge Prime Minister in Haitian President's Assassination

Haiti's Prime Minister Ariel Henry has ordered the firing of the nation's top prosecutor Bed-ford Claude, after he sought to charge Henry in connection to the assassination of President Jovenel Moise, CNN reports. Claude also issued instructions to the country's immigration authority to bar Henry from leaving the country. It remains unclear if Henry has the authority to remove Claude from his post as a leading prosecutor.

Simone Biles Testifies at the Senate on FBI, Justice Departments Handling of Larry Nassar Case

While testifying before the Senate Tuesday, Simone Biles expressed that the abuse she and other gymnasts suffered at the hands of Larry Nassar was partially due to the negligence of USA Gymnastics and the United States Olympic and Paralympic Committee. "To be clear, I blame Larry Nassar and I also blame an entire system that enabled and perpetrated his abuse. USA Gymnastics and the United States Olympic and Paralympic committee knew that I was abused by their official team doctor long before I was ever made aware of their knowledge," said Biles, according to CNN. Further, she shared that the FBI never contacted her even though they were investigating Nassar for sex abuse allegations.

Michael K. Williams Laid to Rest in Harrisburg

A private memorial service was held for Michael K. Williams in Pennsylvania at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Cathedral Tuesday, according to Lancaster Online. Some celebrities were in attendance – including Queen Latifah and "The Wire" creator David Simon. Williams was buried in Harrisburg—a city in which the late actor's mother, Paula Thompson-Williams, has resided for more than two decades.

Arizona to Sue Biden Administration Over Vaccine Mandate

Arizona's Attorney General Mark Brnovich released a statement Tuesday announcing plans to sue the Biden Administration for "federal overreach" behind the administration's new vaccine mandates, which were rolled out last week, CNN reports. The new order requires all government employees and contractors to receive the vaccine. Further, it instructs the Labor Department to require companies with 100 or more employees to require workers to either get vaccinated or undergo weekly COVID testing.

Former Cops Plead Not Guilty to Federal Charges Related to Murder of George Floyd

Derek Chauvin, Tou Thao, J. Alexander Keung, and Thomas Lane appeared in federal court Tuesday where they pled not guilty to federal charges stemming from the murder of George Floyd, The Daily Beast reports. All parties are accused of violating Floyd's civil rights while acting under the authority of the government as members of law enforcement.
