A Queens woman is in police custody for the murder of her 11-month-old son. She faces second-degree murder charges for allegedly suffocating the child to death.

Police officials at 110th Precinct say that Nicole “Nikki” Kelly wrapped her baby, Kiam Felix, Jr. so tightly in a sheet that he could not breathe or move. She left him on the bed for a half hour while she showered, the report to the District Attorney’s office stated. It wasn’t until the boy turned blue that Kelly called his father.

Kiam was pronounced dead Sunday, July 6, at Elmhurst Hospital after Kelly and the boy’s father, who does not live with them, brought him to the emergency room.

Even more despicable, the 22-year-old posted a photo to Facebook of her son, which was presumably taken after his death, given the message that she included, CBS 6 reported.

“Missing my baby boy so much wish there was some way I could bring him back to life I feel horrible knowing he passed away. Am [sic] his Mother. I was supposed to protect him.”

Kelly was placed under psychiatric evaluation at Elmhurst Hospital and was expected to appear before a judge for the murder charge last week.

Detectives investigating the death revealed that Kelly told them she killed Kiam because she had enough, PIX11 reported.

“I reached my breaking point, I didn’t want him anymore,” she stated.

She could receive 25 years to life in prison if found guilty of second-degree murder.
