In rapper Princess Nokia’s 2016 song “Tomboy,” the soft-spoken New York native asserts she’ll punch any brave soul who threatens to “blow” her “high.” And she wasn’t just talking tough because she did exactly that over the weekend—well it was a series of slaps—but she has punched someone before.

On Saturday, a 36-year-old subway rider drinking a Lime-a-Rita made a scene as he shouted racial slurs at a group of young Black men.

“I talk sh– because I know I can,” Paul Lawson exclaimed during his drunken rant on the New York City L Train. “I’m a lawyer! I went to NYU Law! F— you!” he says, before yelling out, “Who cares?”

Nokia was among the commuters who witnessed the bigoted commentary and joined a group of folks who began pushing him off the train. But the 25-year-old didn’t let him out of sight before slapping him and throwing soup in his face according to a series of tweets on Wednesday.

“When I slapped him he called me a n**ger, and when I did all my brothers on the train came to my side and held my hand and comforted me,” the Afro-Latina tweeted on Wednesday after identifying herself as the subway heroine. She can be seen in the video wearing a yellow dress.

“Although painful and humiliating we stood together and kicked this disgusting racist off the train so we could ride in peace away from him,” she continued.

“I will do anything to defend the honor of my brothers and sisters #blacklivesmatter,” the rapper continued. “But I be damned if I let some drunk bigot call a group of young teenage boys racist names and allow him to get away with it,” she wrote.

“I witness blatant racism in public constantly, and it is heartbreaking to witness such hatred and bigotry go undefended.”
