As the hip-hop community continues to mourn the death of late rapper Nipsey Hussle, several of his fellow MCs have decided to delay their upcoming album and song releases out of respect.

Hussle’s good friend and “Last Time That I Checc’d” collaborator, YG, revealed that he was going to release a surprise album next week, April 12. However, in the wake of the Los Angeles wordsmith’s passing, he will now drop the album in May.

“Pushing it to May, Sorry! LONG LIVE @NipseyHussle my brother from the other color!" he wrote.

Ohio artist Machine Gun Kelly shared a similar sentiment, writing on Twitter, "We were dropping first song off the album Friday, but out of respect for Nip, we’re gonna stay silent this week."

TDE artist SchoolBoy Q also shared via Instagram that he will be delaying the release of a new song in order to “start a fresh week.”

"Me and [Anthony 'Top Dawg' Tiffith] was, like, talking about this the other day… this is not something we should be doing, you know what I mean?" he said. "Everybody don’t understand… some people get it, and that’s what’s up."
