NeNe Leakes debunked rumors Monday that she and her husband, Gregg Leakes, are headed for a second divorce.
“Oh Lawd! They say we separated now @greggleakes #fakenews,” the Real Housewives of Atlanta star wrote on Instagram.
“I appreciate you tho Gregg for accepting and understanding that being a care taker is something I’ve never done,” she continued. “I have truly done the best i know how all while making tons of mistakes along the way. You never asked to get sick and We were both thrown into these new positions over nite but whew chile you have kicked cancers ass! I can’t wait for u to share with the world your exciting news in a couple of weeks.”
The speculation began after Sunday’s episode of the Bravo series, in which NeNe revealed that her husband contemplated moving out because of the strain colon cancer treatment was placing on their marriage.
“Right before I came here, we talked about separating,” NeNe said to castmate Cynthia Bailey during a scene in the show.
The actress said Sunday night that the moment was nearly a year old and that she and her husband are fine.
"Oh pleaseeeeee! Gregg Leakes and i are VERY much together," she tweeted to a curious fan. "U looking at an episode that was shot in July 2018 [Eye roll emojis] #SMH."
The couple separated in 2010 and finalized their divorce one year later. The timeline of their relationship was outlined on previous seasons of the reality series. The Leakes remarried in 2013 with a lavish ceremony that received a Bravo spin-off, I Dream of NeNe: The Wedding.
NeNe and Gregg have addressed how difficult dealing with the up and downs of cancer has been on their relationship since his November 2018 diagnosis.
