Rick Ross said some things that made us go WTF last week when asked why he has yet to sign women artist to Maybach Music Group.

In case you missed it, during an interview with “The Breakfast Club,” the “Hustlin'” musician gave the following explanation for a lack of female presence on MMG.

“You know, I never did it because I always thought that like I would end up f**king the female rapper [and] f**king the business up,” Ross said during the interview. “I’m so focused on my business. I gotta be honest with you. You know, she looking good and I’m spending so much money on the photoshoots …I gotta f**k a couple times.”

Whoa der.

Anyway, after receiving a bit of backlash for his ridiculous remarks, Ross appears to be backpedaling on his stance.

On Thursday, the entertainer issued an apology calling his comments “a mistake I regret,” according to TMZ.

He also said he hopes to learn from his poor choice in words and the use the experience as a way to spark change.

“I hope to use my mistake, my platform and the community to create positive discussion to implement change on a very important issue. Respect for the ones who stand up to say hey that isn’t right.”

As for whether he planned to sign women to Maybach Music Group, Rick had this to say.

“Many of the most talented artists you’ll see in the running to be the next #MMG superstars are female artists. I look forward to clarifying my comments through my support.”

Hmmm. Okay Rick.
