Over the weekend, Michigan served as the hotbed host for GOP candidates looking to show their effectiveness in a state still facing economic hardship. So, it comes as no surprise that Republican presidential candidate Rick Santorum used the opportunity (and free press) to send a few shots towards President Obama during an Americans for Prosperity Tea Party event in Troy, Michigan. “President Obama once said he wants everybody in America to go to college,” Santorum sniped. “What a snob!”

The kool-aid had to have been more than spiked as the crowd responded favorably to the former Pennsylvania senator’s remarks — even applauding and cheering Santorum’s putdown of the president. “Not all folks are gifted in the same way. Some people have incredible gifts with their hands!” Santorum added. And while that may be true, we have to ask how many factory or service jobs are actively hiring those American hands?

When will Americans grow tired of the blatant disrespect shown towards our Commander-in-Chief? How will these remarks affect his shot at a second term?
