The Washington Post has an interesting piece about Rick Santorum that is sure to raise a few eyebrows. In the piece, Santorum alleges that President Barack Obama supports a "phony theology not based on the bible," a theology that is a "real low," according to the representative from Pennsylvania. "It is a new low," he told reporters who were in attendance at the Ohio Christian Alliance luncheon. "The president has reached a new low in this country's history of oppressing religious freedom that we have never seen before. And if he doesn't want to call his imposition of his values a theology, that's fine. But it is an imposition of his values over a church who have clear theological reasons for opposing what the Obama administration is forcing on them."
If addressing a disparaging gap between America's rich and poor, advocating peace amidst two horrible wars, and attempting to use international diplomacy to create cooperation between peoples is an "imposition," then Obama can force whatever he wants.
Santorum, who continues to surge in several states, is a hit with large swaths of conservative Christians, but is that enough to shift the attention away from Mitt Romney? Will calling President Obama''s faith into question help Santorum in the polls?
