Leave it to Rihanna to speak up on an unjust system for women. Her latest topic of conversation? Cyntoia Brown.

If you haven’t already been keeping up with the story of Brown, catch up here. She is a former child sex slave who, at 16, murdered a child predator who purchased her for sex in 2004. After years of being trafficked for sex, drugged and raped repeatedly, the girl got the courage to fight back and kill one of her predators. She was arrested and convicted as an adult, and will not be eligible for parole until she is 69.

Rihanna recently commented on the topic via social media, noting the problematic ways of a justice system that “enables rapists” while the victim’s life is thrown away.

“Did we somehow change the definition of “Justice” along the way? [Be]cause something is horribly wrong when the system enables these rapists and the victim is thrown away for life! To each of you responsible for this child’s sentence, I hope to God you don’t have children, because this could be your daughter being punished for punishing already! #FreeCyntoiaBrown #HowManyMore

Rihanna also uploaded a recent photo of Brown who, at 28, received her associate’s degree from Lipscomb University’s in-jail program. She is now working toward her master’s.
