Black Panther has become a complete phenomenon, with plans for a sequel already in the works and whispers of an Okoye-led spin-off making the rounds at Marvel.

Director Ryan Coogler has a similar idea in mind, revealing during the Cannes Film Festival that he’d consider creating a Black Panther offshoot based on the Women of Wakanda.

“Oh man,” Coogler said, according to Variety. “That would be amazing if the opportunity came up. They did it in the comic-book version. We have these actresses who could easily carry their own movie. Some of them have before!”

Wakandan warrior Okoye, played by Danai Gurira, has also been considered to lead her own film, according to Marvel president  Kevin Feige.

“Okoye, I think I’d watch three action films just Okoye. I’m not saying we’re doing that, but I’m saying that we’re intrigued by them.”
