While there are several young rappers who are labeling themselves the “New Pac,” none of are actually equipped to review the new Tupac Shakur biopic, All Eyez on Me. That’s far from the case with Houston rap legend Scarface, who recently had some harsh criticism for the film.

During an interview at Chicago’s Classic Hip-Hop Lives event, Scarface pointed out a few things about All Eyez on Me that didn’t sit right with him. Face not only collaborated with Pac on “Smile,” but was also a close friend of the late rapper’s. Therefore, he was able to point out some of the essential figures in Pac’s life and career that were missing from the film. “If MC Breed not in that movie, then it ain’t no real ‘Pac movie. If the D.O.C. wasn’t mentioned in that movie, it’s not a real ‘Pac movie. If that shit wasn’t sanctioned by the people that grew up with ‘Pac … I don’t know, bro,” the Geto Boys member said.

Scarface not only took issue with the authenticity of the film, but also whom is profiting from it. Later in the clip, Face goes as far as to request that studios stop making posthumous biopics like All Eyez on Me, and that consumers stop supporting them. “It ain’t feeding his momma, his momma gone,” he said. “It ain’t feeding his kids, he ain’t got none. Who getting the money?”

This isn’t the first time a big name has spoken out against the Benny Boom-directed film. 50 Cent took to Instagram and called the film “trash,” telling audiences to watch it on a Fire Stick rather than pay full-price at the theater. Meanwhile, Pac’s friend Jada Pinkett-Smith called out some of the scenes between herself and Tupac as being fabricated, Tweeting “Forgive me… my relationship to Pac is too precious to me for the scenes in All Eyez On Me to stand as truth.”

Despite the criticism and poor reviews that have been rolling in, All Eyez on Me has been a hit at the box office thus far. The film brought in $26.4 million in its opening weekend.
