If you’re a huge fan of Serena Williams then prepare to be disappointed.

The tennis star announced that after four months of giving birth to her baby girl and first child, that she will not defend her Australian Open title.

ESPN reports that Williams, who won the open seven times, confirmed the news on Tuesday.

“”After competing in Abu Dhabi I realized that although I am super close, I’m not where I personally want to be,” Williams said in a statement. “My coach and team always said, ‘Only go to tournaments when you are prepared to go all the way.’ I can compete — but I don’t want to just compete, I want to do far better than that and to do so, I will need a little more time.”

Last weekend, Williams played in an exhibition tournament in Abu Dhabi, losing the French Open champ, Jelena Ostapenko.

“…even though I am disappointed about it, I’ve decided not to compete in the Australian Open this year,” the star said.

Last year when Williams won at the open she was pregnant. The game was her 23rd Gran Slam singles title. In September, she gave birth do her daughter, Alexis Olympia.

We are rooting for you Serena.
