Season 11 of Real Housewives of Atlanta has introduced much of the world to Shamari DeVoe, lead singer of R&B group Blaque and wife of New Edition and BBD member Ronnie DeVoe.

On the latest episode, the mother of two got candid about her relationship with her husband, and admitted they briefly agreed to open their marriage to others.

During a shopping trip, Shamari asked her husband’s mother, Flo, “Did you ever know that me and Ron had an open relationship?”

Although Flo was taken aback by the question, Shamari continued, telling her mother-in-law, “There was a point where he can do his thing and I can do mine. I initiated the open marriage. We were going through some really bad times. It was a girl that I was interested at the time. I wanted to do something different. I was bi-curious.”

Flo replied, “When you open up the doors, you let the devil in.”

Shamari went into even more detail while hanging with the ladies, revealing that Ronnie had no problem allowing her to experiment with women as long as there were no other men involved.

“What if you want to get a man with a big chest and big d*ck?  You can’t get that?” NeNe Leakes asked, to which Shamari responded, “As long as I was able to go about in my bi-curious ways, then I was cool with that. I didn’t want to be with another man because I had my husband. I slept with two women, he slept with about 10.”

In the end, however, Shamari knew her marriage couldn’t make it long-term if they continued to entertain others. She admitted, “I started the open relationship, and I ended the open relationship. I realized the grass wasn’t greener on the other side.”
