Snoop Dogg may have made his feelings clear about President Trump in the music video for the song “Lavender,” but a Republican legislator says the rapper went too far.

Florida Sen. Marco Rubio criticized Snoop for shooting a toy gun at a clown dressed as Trump in the video, which is a remix of the tune by Canadian group BADBADNOTGOOD also featuring Kaytranada.

“Snoop shouldn’t have done that,” Rubio told TMZ.  “We’ve had presidents assassinated before in this country, so anything like that is something people should really careful about,” adding that if the “wrong person sees that and gets the wrong idea, you could have a real problem.”

The video shows Snoop shooting at the Trump character with a gun that releases a flag with the word, “bang.”

Snoop used the video, which was released Sunday to outline his issues with the president.

“It’s a lot of clown [expletive]  going on that we could just sit and talk on the phone all day about, but it’s a few issues that we really wanted to lock into [for the video] like police, the president and just life in general,” Snoop told Billboard.
