Last week, we reported that Stacey Dash was “considering” a run for Congress.

Now, it appears that the actress and political commentator has filed paperwork to run in California’s 44th district, CNN reports.

Dash, 51, who identifies as a Republican, wishes to represent the congressional district that includes Compton, Watts, San Pedro and North Long Beach, which has long been represented by a Democrat. It is currently represented by Nanette Barragán.

In 2016, the district overwhelmingly voted for Democratic presidential nominee Hillary Clinton (83% to 12%).

Representatives for Dash did not immediately respond to request for comment from CNN.
