In the latest case of police being called on Black folks for no reason, a Santa Fe, New Mexico convenience store clerk called 911 on a 22-year-old college student for being, in her own words “arrogant and Black.”

Xavier University student Jordan McDowell captured the racist act on camera after going into the store to purchase Sour Patch Kids candy. He claims the store clerk accused him of being “sketchy” for no reason before calling the police, according to KRQE.

“I want him out of the store right now,” the woman can he heard saying on video while talking to 911. “Because he’s being arrogant, because he’s black.”

Santa Fe Police Department officers arrived at the scene to a report of “larceny.” No action was taken against McDowell or the clerk. The store employee would not comment, but a manager told the network that the clerk’s behavior was “unacceptable.”

“There’s nothing right about this,” McDowell told KRQE. “There’s nothing right to call the police on someone just because of their skin tone.”
