American Apparel understands that not all nudes are not created equally. On Tuesday, the Los Angeles-based basics brand introduced its inclusive NUDES collection, a line of nude-wear, emphasizing the range of neutral tones and promoting body positivity.
The line features nine different shades that serve to include the full spectrum of skin tones. The campaign showcases the diversity of the line by casting models of various body shapes, sizes and complexions. A statement on American Apparel’s website reads, “Introducing our first-ever inclusive nude collection: a celebration of authentic, diverse representation. NUDES encompasses a broad spectrum of skin colors, with sexy, premium essentials in 9 shades of nude.”
The collection of bras, thongs, hot shorts and bodysuits will be available in sizes from XS to XXL.
“There is no singular version of the human experience and no singular definition of ‘neutral,'” said a spokesperson for the apparel brand.
NUDES is currently available for purchase on AmericanApparel.com.
