Last week, supermodel Anok Yai made history in a major way at Milan Fashion Week. The Sudanese model, who rose to fame shortly after being discovered at Howard University’s homecoming last year, became the first Black model to open a Prada runway in 20 years.
Supermodel Naomi Campbell became the first Black woman to open a Prada runway show in 1997.
