Yes, the Internet is still buzzing about Steve Harvey’s flub at the end of the Miss Universe pageant, but in related news, did you notice the Miss World contestant rocking the dreadlocks?

Sanneta Myrus, the 4th runner-up hailing from Jamaica, wore the style last night, making history as the first woman a part of the competition to do so.

What’s the big deal?

Dubbed unkempt and unprofessional by some, Black folks have been long blasted for showing off the natural ‘do. Remember the Zendaya controversy?

So the 24-year-old’s decision to display her coiffure, as is, was more than a fashion statement. It was a milestone.

“I lock my hair because I identify with it,” she told BET. “I am very much rooted in that Afro-centric nature, where we as Jamaicans are rooted. It’s my expression. The only thing to eclipse the natural beauty of Jamaica is the spirit of its people…one of strong resilience, creativity and ingenuity.”

Right on!

The starlet isn’t the only notable who sports the look. Check out this gallery of some of our favorite celebrities flaunting their luscious locs.
