Give a Little Lip! 

Bold lips are nothing new to the catwalk. But I was delighted to see a fabulous shade backstage at Tadashi Shoji that worked for all skin tones.  The soon-to-be-released Lipmix pigment from M.A.C. is a hybrid of a lipstick and a gloss that only requires a tiny drop for major impact. M.A.C. artists kept the rest of the face relatively simple with a sweep of mascara and groomed brows. The look is perfect for future crisp fall days!

20's Flapper Style!

Backstage hair and makeup was bustling at Erickson Beamon where the models were transported to the 1920’s. I loved the modern finger waves some of the models sported (as shown above), which perfectly complimented the deep smoky eye and plum-bitten lip. The key to achieving this look was starting with a great skincare regiment. Thankfully Arcona Skincare was on hand! Each model’s skin was prepped with nourishing Triad Pads, a three-in-one cleanser-tone-hydrator, which removes even the most stubborn makeup. Luckily, I was gifted my own set so if I’m too tired to wash my face after a long day, I’m covered! —Janell Hickman
