Who, what and where!

Hitsville USA on Broadway

“Motown: The Musical” recalls the real-life story of how Black music figurehead Berry Gordy founded the legendary label. From a whirlwind love affair with Supremes star Diana Ross to his first meeting with the Jackson 5, the play touches on the most intimate and influential moments of Gordy’s life while infusing quite the musical catalog.

Cam’ron X Nike Elite Socks

Now we aren’t sure if these socks are just an urban legend or a Dapper Dan dream. But Diplomats (Dipset) leader and Harlem-based rapper Cam’ron was honored with a Nike Elite Sock with an image of him donning his signature pink fur. I seriously need these socks in my life!

Mrs. Carter, the New Face of H&M
The all-around superstar diva, who kicks off her sold out Mrs. Carter Show World Tour on April 15th, will appear in television and print ads featuring pieces from the H&M summer collection. The print and outdoor billboards introduce "Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M,” and the idea that women can be all things: strong, vulnerable, sensual, maternal, fun and flirtatious. The clothing will be available at the beginning of May in H&M stores worldwide.

The Anchor in New Haven, CT

Nestled in the hipster hood that surrounds the Yale University campus, I took a trip down memory lane while visiting my hometown this weekend. Founded in the early 1940s, this gem offers up neat cocktails without the pretense of a doorman or a cooler-than-you crowd. Patrons are able to relax in leather banquettes while the original Rock-Ola Jukebox (circa late 1940s) plays the classics.

Alton Lane

While researching possible spaces for an upcoming Father’s Day shoot, Style Director Marielle Bobo and I visited bespoke suit shop Alton Lane. We were blown away by the lovely loft space and social club atmosphere. But the real standout was the craftsmanship of Alton Lane’s offerings. (The shop is by appointment only.)
