Kelly Rowland and Courvoisier kick off Courvoisiology
Last Thursday, Kelly Rowland helped Courvoisier kick off its newest program, Courvoisiology, with a live performance that promoted her upcoming album, Talk a Good Game, at SIR Stage 37 in New York City. Rowland was joined by guests including R&B star Melanie Fiona and singer Elle Varner, among others, who were privy to an exclusive performance of Rowland’s new singles and hits including “Kisses Down Low,” and “When Love Takes Over.” — Fashion Editor Ericka N. Dove April Truth Day Event
A day after April Fool’s Day, Dove celebrated April Truth Day as part of their current Truth Files campaign. Editors and consumers enjoyed sipping on signature cocktails including Care-tinis and Truth Serum while learning about how other brands stack up against Dove. Samantha Bee of The Daily Show kept us laughing as she shared a few truths about herself. My favorite part? Sitting down with the “truth tellers” to have my fortune told. Designer Nary Manivong Visits the EBONY Magazine Office
Emerging designer of the eponymous visited the EBONY office last Friday to show the Style Team his Fall 2013 line. We were surprised that the beautifully crafted contemporary line had such an approachable price point, with items ranging $100-$500. From coated tweed to cleaver cut-outs, Nary’s items are soon to be a girl’s best friend. And if the name sounds familiar, Mr. Manivong formerly designed the NAHM line with Alexandria Hilfiger. — EG
Respite at Oasis Day Spa
Hidden away at One Park Avenue lies one of NYC’s favorite spas, Oasis Day Spa. After a busy week, I checked out their signature Swedish massage with high hopes to have my tensions kneaded away. An hour later, I emerged a new woman ready to tackle the rest of my weekend!
