Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas is exploring a new venture, cosmetics. Douglas is collaborating with Black-owned cosmetic brand, Beauty Bakerie who will release five new “whip lips” on March 14.

According to its website, Beauty Bakerie, who takes pride in being vegan and cruelty-free, started looking for their next brand ambassador a year ago.

When we found out Gabby was looking to create a beautiful line of lipsticks with a brand that carried the best liquid lipsticks (Ahem… did someone say Lip Whips?), we knew we’d struck gold! Gabby is a strong woman whose values, dedication, and poise has inspired so many of us to be and give the best version of ourselves in every situation.

As Douglas gracefully prevailed against the harsh criticism she experienced during her Olympic journey in the sweetest way, the brand knew she would be the perfect person for its newest collaboration.

“It’s easy to allow negativity or hard circumstances keep you from chasing your dreams. However, it is very important that you maintain a positive outlook and surround yourself with others who share the same mindset.” Douglas said on the brand’s website. “I have definitely had to endure situations that could have made me bitter. But, I decided to focus on being better instead!”

To share her exciting news, Douglas took to her Instagram a few days ago:

“I have actually always wanted to have a lipstick line also, so this partnership fits together in many ways,” Douglas said in a press release. “I’m honored to be able to partner with a brand that has an amazing product.”

BB’s products are designed for all shades and complexions and smudge and water proof. Containing a deep purple, brown, red and two shades or pink, four out of the five colors mirror the brands’ formula, but the fifth one is metallic.

Her five new shades; Hazelnut Swirl, Plum Sorbet, Triple Berry Moose, Sangria Splash, and Cherry Flambe will be sold for $80 per set, according to Bustle.
