Want healthy tresses like Gabrielle Union?

Now you can get them. The Being Mary Jane star developed a line of hair care products, Flawless by Gabrielle Union, for textured hair.

Union says she was “addicted to relaxing” her hair and decided it was time to go natural. But the transition came with challenges: Her work schedule was stressful on her hair; there was limited availability of products for ethnic hair care, forcing her to cocktail brands; and it was difficult to maintain moisture.

To combat the problems, Union’s hairstylist came up with home remedies that use three oils-avocado, marula and argan -to nurture her strands.

“With Being Mary Jane, we shoot two episodes at a time. Within that day of work, I may go through four or five different hair changes. And just trying to find products that will allow that versatility for when I’m wearing my own hair, wigs, weaves and extensions,” Union tells EBONY, is the path that led to the creation of Flawless.

Flawless, sold online ( and exclusively at Ulta Beauty beginning April 16, offers 10 products with her go-to oils—including moisturizing shampoo and conditioner, hair masque, blow dry cream and edge control gel—ranging from $19-$29.

Union says whether you rock it natural, wear a wig or weave, dryness may remain a problem. “For some reason, we don’t put enough emphasis on the moisture with natural styles. I want to make it clear that the foundation of the Flawless brand is moisture and nourishing your hair.”
