EBONY.com caught up with Atlanta based nail artist, Miya Norman, a.k.a. “Nailtorious Miya,” who created this one-of-a-kind look.

The Trend:

The color is bright, the stones bold, and when combined it will give you a look that stands out! Upgrade a drab winter wardrobe instantly by accessorizing your nails with a pop of color and sparkle. Read on to learn how to get this look at home.

Do It Yourself:

Start off with Essie Protein Base Coat ($8.00, Ulta.com) before applying China Glaze Nail Polish in Flip Flop Fantasy to eight nails.

For your accent nail, apply a glitter nail polish like China Glaze Nail Polish in Techno ($7.25, Soap.com) for an underlay of sparkle. Next, Miya Norman (whose clients include Adrienne Bailon, Hannah Bronfman and D. Woods) carefully applied Swarovski Crystals on to each nail, securing them with two drops of Kiss Maximum Speed Nail Glue ($2.59, Walgreens.com). As an alternative to real crystals, Norman suggests OPI Nail Embellishments, for bling that doesn’t break the bank.

Finally, apply Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat ($9.95, Ulta.com) for a long-lasting mani, but heed Norman’s advice: “Skip using top coat on the crystals, it will give them a dull look. You want them to really pop!”
