R&B queen Mary J. Blige has teamed up with jewelry designer Simone I. Smith for Sister Love, a futuristic jewelry collaboration, that launched on Monday (July 9). Smith is the wife of LL Cool J and started her eponymous jewelry collection in 2011 after undergoing surgery for stage III Chondrosarcoma, a rare bone cancer.

In a press release obtained by EBONY, the Yonkers native explained why she partnered with Smith for her move into the jewelry industry. “What made me want to work with Simone is she already created an amazingly successful jewelry line and all the pieces are things that I love, and she also has an amazing fashion sense,” said Blige. “I wanted to add to that by sharing some of my fashion sense with her and creating some things I dream about and I know other women are dreaming about.”

Just as the name suggests the collaboration pays homage to the community, support and love that comes with sisterhood. “As women working together, it’s important to be able to adjust each other’s crowns, instead of tearing each other down,” Smith said women uplifting one another. “We are working together with this collaboration to celebrate our friendship and successes and empower others from our strength of supporting each other.”

The ‘Queen Hoops Earrings,’ is the debut accessory from the collection and is priced at $199. The chunky hoop earring is available in limited quantity and is available for purchase on SisterLoveMJB.com.
