It's that time of the year again when mere mortals catch glimpses of the mega fashion gods and goddesses at the annual Metropolitan Ball in New York City. The best and the brightest in fashion, beauty, film, and music will be in attendance, and the date choices of guests will be as equally talked about as the red carpet looks. Balmain's Olivier Rousteing will be taking the current queen of the catwalk Joan Smalls, while Alexander Wang has invited along breakout star and fashion icon favorite Azealia Banks, who is set to perform. Other designers in attendance include Derek Lam, Michael Kors, Thakoon Panichgul, Donna Karan, and Anthony Vaccarello, all of whom will be bringing big name dates.
Several ball players are set to attend as well, including Victor Cruz, Dwyane Wade, and Carmelo Anthony. It's a safe bet to assume that Wade will be bringing longtime girlfriend Gabrielle Union along, while Anthony brings his wife and new bestie of Anna Wintour, Lala Vasquez. The Met Ball always guarantees a healthy dose of glamor, divas, and sometimes, if we're lucky, drama. Here's to hoping that this year's event delivers in full.
