From runway inspirations to one-of-a-kind designs, our picks are sure to keep you up on your nail game while giving you the 411 on how to recreate many of the looks yourself. This week caught up with nail artist Sara of Happy Nails for her fun Ying Yang design.

The Trend: Creating balance and harmony in ones life isn't exclusive to your internal self anymore. With nail artist Sara's use of the traditional Chinese ancient concept, Yin and Yang, you can exude peace even through your nail art.  Hand drawn on top of a gray backdrop, the chic color combo makes for a fab fall manicure. Check out the details below:

EBONY: First the basics: how did you create this design?

Sara: I first began by grooming the nails. Next I chose my two colors: gray and pink. I then painted a semi-circle on the nail moons of the accent nails, alternating pink and gray. We like like Milani Neon Nail Lacquer in Pink Rocks! ($3.82; Drugstore.com), and Essie in Power Clutch ($8.50; Essie.com). I created the Ying-Yang design by free handing a half heart shape vertically on half of the nail. Lastly, I painted the other half of the design using the opposite color and added the dots on both sides.

EBONY: What would you say you love most about nail artistry?

Sara: You know, I just love to do nail art. It’s awesome when you finish a design and it looks amazing, you sort of think, "wow, I created this." I sometimes do a nail design and it doesn't look right, so I’ll change it, but that's the art of designing. It might look crazy but it is still art. Crazy designs can look so pretty, too.
