We live for runway reveals, celeb sightings, street style and everything that encompasses New York Fashion Week. After all, this is THE time to get your style chops in order. With a fashion-packed week behind us – at least in NYC, the EBONY style team put together this recap of a few NYFW moments that we loved!

Beauty Bliss:

From Moroccanoil at Cushnie et Ochs and Georgine to Aveda at Public School and Inglot for Michael Costello, our list of beauty looks to try at home are endless.

Cushnie et Ochs FW17 collection was inspired by Robert Smithson’s Map of Broken Glass and its airy, woodsy feel. Overflowing with sensuality, soft and sophisticated broken waves make for the perfect undone glam look. The beauty aesthetic at Georgine was outlined by an all-black, rough textured look with strong bangs delivering a bold and edgy “power girl” vibe.

At Michael Costello it was all about the Black Amethyst, known for its smoky appearance with flecks of white, black and silver.

For the guys, matte piece-y high texture was the key hair direction at Public School.

Body Positivity:

Body positivity was certainly an underlying theme of the week. There is no shame in not being sample size and designers such as Chromat and Christian Siriano proved that “slay” comes in all shapes and sizes.

Trend Tracker:

Layers over layers, luxe textures, liquid leather, plaid and prints abound for the FW17 season. Outerwear was having the best moments on the runway, denim was shown in new dimensions and social commentary spawned from the current political climate found it’s way into a number of presentations.
