A recipe of gorgeous models, bottomless cocktails and stunning, textured hair had guests swooning at “Curl Couture,” Fashion’s Night Out’s premiere event for naturals. Presented by hair care brand Beautiful Textures, the swanky bash was hosted by G.O.O.D Music recording artist Teyana Taylor. Flaunting looks created by Emmy-award winning hairstylist Hadiiya Barbel, models stood high on podiums with awe-inspiring hair interpretations of spring 2013, including blooming roses, colorful butterflies and intertwining branches. Guests like Afrobella and celebrity stylist Ty Hunter (Beyonce) noshed on delectable treats from Harlem’s legendary Sylvia’s restaurant.
“We’re incredibly excited to take part in fashion’s biggest night,” says Charlene Bastien, Strength of Nature National Marketing Director. “Textured hair is so stylish and Beautiful Textures believes that it deserves the spotlight.”
Longtime curly girl Teyana Taylor wore long, Rapunzel-esque waves for the occasion and dished her thoughts on the droves of women rocking natural hair. “I love it. It’s always been a part of my look and I’m proud to see my curly heads out here!”
