Last night (May 7), New York’s Metropolitan Museum of Art held its annual Met Gala, the opening party for its spring exhibition that doubles as a fund-raiser for the museum’s Costume Institute. Each year, the themed party, which held the first Monday in May, is considered one of the biggest events in fashion. This year’s theme was Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination. Celebrities fused their imaginations with their style and were inspired by saints, demons, churches and other aspects of the religion.
Check out some of the standout looks below:
Rihanna
Rihanna graced the red carpet wearing a bejeweled minidress beneath a flowing overcoat from Maison Margiela designed by John Galliano. She also wore a bishop’s hat designed by Stephen Jones.
