From controversial remixes with former flame Chris Brown to barely-there tops exposing her ta-ta's, the good girl gone bad's recent antics have had many people talking about her in a negative fashion. Yet, throughout it all, Rihanna has managed to stake her claim to fashion icon status, so it's no surprise that the singer has expressed a strong interest in starting her own fashion line. As eager as she is to take on a role as designer, Rihanna is patiently waiting for everything to fall into place so that her line genuinely reflects her personal taste. "I’m working with designers that I respect," said the Bajan pop star. "I want people to trust me before I say, ‘Buy it because it’s mine.’”

Rihanna certainly has experience working with top level designers. She teamed up with fashion brand Armani for their Fall 2011 and Spring 2012 lines, although her particular contribution to the actual design process is a bit hazy. Seeing as how she can cause the most flamboyant hair colors to sell off shelves, Rihanna may be on to something here if she's able to hold her line to her personal "rock star" standards and retain that Rih-Rih factor in each of her designs.

Will the recent rumors about Rihanna have an impact on her ability to connect with female shoppers? Or, will the "Hard" singer prove the naysayers wrong yet again and take the fashion industry by storm with a show-stopping line? Which designer would be the right one to make that happen?
