Style/Beauty Workbook: Treat Your Feet

STEP #1
Relax the Senses
Celebrity manicurist  Gina Edwards recommends that you begin by filling a large bowl with warm water,  adding a few drops of your favorite essential oil or fragrance to create a relaxing ambiance. “Kick it up a notch with some milk, which helps soften the feet when you soak,” suggests Honey, a nail technician for Exposure NY.  Clairvoyant Beauty Milk Bath Soak ($18; clairvoyantbeauty.com)

STEP #2
Keep It Tidy
Luxury manicurist Dawn Sterling advises trimming and filing each toenail to your desired shape. Next, push back the cuticles, wiping away any excess skin. Buff your nails; adding oil to each bed beforehand will, according to Honey, “add a nice shine.” Moroccanoil Dry Body Oil ($38; moroccanoil.com)

STEP #3
Smooth Down
“For a plush treatment, use a body scrub on feet and legs,” offers Indigo Makong, manicurist for Morgan Taylor Professional Nail Lacquer. Try exfoliating scrubs with nourishing ingredients such as avocado and/or coffee beans. Then rinse, dry off and moisturize. Nyakio Kenyan Coffee Body Scrub ($55; nyakio.com)
