In the era of remakes, it was only a matter of time before studios made their way to the blaxploitation genre, and while cult classic Shaft has been remade several times, 1972 crime drama Super Fly is next on the list.

Deadline reports the son of the original film’s producer, Steven R. Shore, will executive produce the project while Joel Silver and “Low Life” rapper Future will serve as producers.

The Atlanta rhymer will also curate the film’s soundtrack, following in the footsteps of legendary singer/ songwriter Curtis Mayfield. The soul icon composed the original film’s soundtrack, which included songs such as “Freddie’s Dead” and “Pusherman.” The nine-track album went on to outgrossed the movie, according to XXL.

Best known for his music video resume, Director X will be at the helm of the film.
