One of President Barack Obama’s former national security advisers,Susan Rice, has joined Netflix’s board of directors, CNN reports.

Rice, 53, who also served as U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations under Obama and as a special assistant to President Bill Clinton, will be the fourth woman on the board and the first African-American in the board’s history, according to Blavity.

Netflix CEO Reed Hastings said in a press release:

We are delighted to welcome Ambassador Rice to the Netflix board.  For decades, she has tackled difficult, complex global issues with intelligence, integrity and insight and we look forward to benefiting from her experience and wisdom.

“I am thrilled to be joining the board of directors of Netflix, a cutting-edge company whose leadership, high-quality productions, and unique culture I deeply admire,” said Rice.

Some conservative-leaning Netflix users are calling for a boycott of the service because of Rice’s appointment.
