President Obama gave the keynote speech Friday at the SXSW conference in Austin, Tex. It was the first time a sitting president participated in the event, which drew more than 80,000 people last year.

The president spoke with Evan Smith, editor-in-chief of The Texas Tribune on a range of topics including civic engagement, cyber security, privacy in the digital age and how technology and government both operate to help people’s day-to-day lives.
