Following the success of Calling All Lovers, Tamar Braxton is gearing up to release yet another album, which she described as her “best work yet.” “It’s almost like Love and War and Calling All Lovers got together and had a baby,” she said in an interview with Rap-Up.

Back in April, she released the single “My Man” from the project, which chronicled her parents’ tumultuous relationship. “I wanted to be a voice for my mother and say things that she didn’t get to say to both of them when it was all going down,” shared Tamar. “I wanted to truly channel her as a woman and not just as my mom, to confront the both of them.”

Tamar goes on to explain that her newest venture is not only a breathe of fresh air but a new chapter in general as she snagged an independent deal with eOne after releasing three projects via Epic Records. “I’m really excited about it because I get to do things my way,” she explained. “I don’t have to sell people on things I want to do.”

A self-proclaimed “ratchet head,” the R&B songstress affirms her love for the hip-hop culture, however, she recognizes the importance of staying in your lane. “Just because I’m a fan of hip-hop music, does not mean this is the music that I’m supposed to make,” she said when mentioning her favorite rappers. “I’ll do any record with Kendrick. I love Future, love Yo Gotti. Listen, I’m a ratchet head.”

We’re excited to see what’s in store for the youngest of the Braxton clan! Stay tuned for more info and check out the video above.
